Gas Companies Try to Deny Landowner’s Property Rights

Want to protect your property rights? Think you have the right to decide what happens to the natural gas under your property? Don’t count on the gas companies to honor your decision if it’s not what they want.

Today’s headline is about a farmer in West Virginia is suing the gas companies because they’ve grabbed his land without his consent.  

Cain has not granted permission to use his land; XTO contends it can do so without his permission, and has already cleared the land.
